Presentation Precision Livestock Farming

Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) aims for more efficiency and precision in dairy, pig and poultry  farming by using data and technology. Lenny van Erp and colleagues work with various sensors and farm data, translating these data into information. With that knowledge, illness can be prevented and welfare improved, while at the same time using less feed, water and antibiotics. Researchers and students of HAS University use sensors and farm data to monitor behaviour and health of the animals, with the aim to improve efficiency, prevent disease and increase animal welfare. In the presentation, Lenny will give an overview of precision livestock farming systems to monitor health and welfare of dairy cows, pigs and poultry.
